A meeting to remember Tommaso Fanfani
Saturday, the 21st of February at 10 am, at Villa Argentina in Viareggio, will be presented the recent book on Banks, Ethics and Development, promoted by the Italian Banking Association and published by Bancaria Editrice.
The book, with an introduction by ABI President Antonio Patuelli, has selected essays by Adam Smith, Schumpeter, Luzzatti, Einaudi, Cattaneo, Mattioli, Menichella and others, and is an occasion to commemorate the Economic Historian Tommaso Fanfani who edited for ABI five anthological books on Banks' History in Italy, from the origins in medieval times to the contemporary scene.
The presentation, sponsored by the Province of Lucca and by Accademia Maria Luisa di Borbone, will be introduced by Nicola Forti, Director of Bancaria Editrice, who will retrace Fanfani's project. Giuseppe Conti, professor of Economic History at the University of Pisa, will discuss the price of money and the common good, and Prof. Msgr. Giovanni Scarabelli of the Catholic University in Leopoli will speak about Ethics and Economics in the thought of Pope Francis.
